Contra o militarismo e a guerra, contra a NATO (1ª reunião preparatória em 30 de Setembro no SPGL, em Lisboa)

Em finais de 2010 vai realizar-se em Portugal uma cimeira da NATO e está a desenhar-se na Europa uma vasta rede de organizações contra o militarismo e a guerra, para os quais a NATO tem oferecido um contributo destacado. A designação da campanha internacional que se irá desenvolver é: “No to War, No to NATO”.
O facto de a cimeira se realizar em Portugal coloca a quem aqui reside um desafio especial e uma obrigação particular de participação no movimento anti-NATO.


1ª REUNIÃO PREPARATÓRIA
30 SETEMBRO - 18h00
SPGL (R. Fialho de Almeida, nº 3, LISBOA)

No sentido de colaborar activamente nas realizações que se irão desenvolver, em Portugal e não só, contra a NATO, um grupo de cidadãos decidiu proceder à divulgação de um projecto de constituição de uma rede de pessoas e organizações com o objectivo cívico referido em título.

Para a prossecução daquele objectivo, propõem-se as seguintes premissas de adesão e participação:

Constitui questão decisiva da actuação do grupo, a criação, apoio e divulgação de acções não-violentas contra o militarismo, a guerra e a NATO;
Como movimento vocacionado para unir pessoas, grupos e organizações com o objectivo preciso acima referido, entende-se como elemento central o carácter não-partidário deste movimento, não se excluindo, naturalmente, a adesão de pessoas com filiação partidária;
Todas as decisões, após debate envolvendo todos os aderentes, serão tomadas, tanto quanto possível, por consenso.

Dirigimos-lhe esta mensagem para o convidar a participar na primeira reunião de trabalho, a realizar no dia 30 de Setembro, pelas 18:00, em Lisboa, no SPGL (Rua Fialho de Almeida, nº 3, Lisboa (Metro S. Sebastião).

Temos informações para partilhar e propostas a fazer, bem como recolher as dos outros
participantes e avançar para colocar no terreno acções concretas, com uma coordenação conjunta.

O Colectivo Luta Social e o GAIA integram desde já na Rede Europeia Contra o Militarismo e Guerra: «No to War, Shut Down NATO» e estarão presentes na primeira reunião internacional em Berlim. [PROGRAMA-CONVOCATÓRIA]

Procedure to establish the working groups:
The final decisions on the working groups will be made on Saturday at 8pm. All working groups with more than three interested people will take place. We ask all of you to help - if
you are interested - in preparing and sharing one of these working groups. The preparation
of the working groups should be an ongoing process.

7. Feminist militaristic critics
8. Structure of the network: political basis, coalition building, enlargement (other and further working groups are possible)

4 – 7 pm NPT 2010 Preparatory Meeting
Aim of the meeting is to exchange information of the international and national preparations for the NPT Conference in May 2010. Furthermore the meeting aims at preparing in structure and content the international preparatory meeting in Washington, November 2009.

3. We will organize English – French and German simultaneous translation on Saturday and Sunday in the Plenaries.
4. The Afghanistan working meeting on Friday afternoon will be in English, the evening meeting in German and English depending on the speakers.
